The Open-Ended Working Group on Reducing Space Threats Through Norms, Rules and Principles of Responsible Behaviours: The Journey so Far, and the Road Ahead

Aware of the critical importance outer space for humankind, international community has ascertained need a secure and peaceful domain, proposed multiple mechanisms to achieve this goal, with varying degrees success. The United Nations open-ended working group (OEWG) on reducing threats through norms, rules principles responsible behaviours, convened under General Assembly resolution 76/231 is latest effort agree security mechanisms. With an open inclusive approach address issue systems that brings together perspectives heretofore considered incompatible, process presents new chance build common understanding necessary security.
